I have the last of our Presidents Day activities to share with you, but I forgot my jump drive at school and since I'm in Birmingham, that will have to wait. I have had so much fun this weekend back in Alabama! I got to visit with my family, see my friends (and get some wedding gifts!), and meet some other super cool Alabama bloggers. We had so much fun at our lunch, and I am so glad that I got to be a part of it! We definitely need to do it again. You can see pictures and details over at First Grade Blue Skies here.

In other news, Teachers Pay Teachers is having a Leap Day sale this Wednesday. You can click on the picture for more! Hopefully, I will have my St. Patrick's Day pack up by then!

Today, we learned all about Abraham Lincoln...

Since we've had so much fun with Valentines, we're continuing the fun all this week!

Deeanna has the recording page for the candy heart addition here.

You can see the original Mystery Box activity from Babbling Abby here.

My candy hearts lesson was inspired by my friend Deeanna's kisses lesson that you can find here.

I am *hoping* to have my President's Day Centers pack up by tomorrow night. It looks like I might get to finish it since my husband is currently addicted to the new Playstation game I gave him for Valentines!  Let me know if there is something you specifically need for your kiddos :). Off to work on that and a few things for my FORMAL observation tomorrow!! Let's hope all the kids won't be on a sugar high!

After I posted my Sweetheart Candy graph and data sheet, I realized some of you may need recording pages for the hearts that have white candies instead of blue, so I made one really quickly :). Hopefully, I'll be back tomorrow with our Valentine's fun...I have a ton to do tonight to get ready!

Click here to get the version with pink, purple, yellow, greeen, orange, and white.

I am soooo glad it's Friday. While I love teaching, this week has been a bit of a challenge behavior wise...I think we're all hyped up about Valentine's Day!

We graphed Valentine colored chocolate candy today (a.k.a M&Ms) and also did a little data sheet. These are both part of my Love is in the Air pack.

I had to share these pictures of what one of my groups did at literacy workshops today. They went to the game bucket and were so excited when I could come look at all the games they had finished!

I also just posted my Fun with Dr. Seuss pack on TPT. You can find the pack and a full description  here. There are lots of language arts and math centers as well as writing prompts and a graphing activity. Numerous common core standards are covered, so be sure to go check it out. I will give one copy away to the first person to comment here that also 1. Follows my blog and 2. Follows my TPT store. Make sure to let me know both in your comment and don't forget your email. Happy weekend!!

For math on Valentine's Day, we are going to graph candy hearts {each child will get their own box}. I know there are lots of recording pages out there for this, but the candy hearts I bought in the little boxes this year have different colors than in previous years {blue, yellow, orange, green, purple, and pink}. So, I made a new graph and data sheet to go with the new colors. You can click on the picture to get it. Let me know if you're able to use it! Happy almost Friday!!
{Graphics are from KPM Doodles and fonts are Kevin and Amanda}
I love this time of year...it seems like so many lightbulbs start going off and so many of my babies that started the year turn into independent big kids. We're still working on our love/friendship theme and are having so much fun!
{My link for the writing paper from yesterday should be working now :) }

You can get the Heartbreaker real/nonsense words center here for free :).

You can get the Friend Argument page here

Also, while you're on TPT, be sure to check out my friend Deeanna's shop. She just posted a super cute weather pack full of great math and literacy centers.
To go along with Valentine's Day, we are talking all about friendship this week. I think it goes perfectly with the season of love and we can all use a little reminder this time of year about how to be a good friend. Sorry again for some of the pictures looking greenish...not sure what's going on :)

You can get the What Do You Love writing page by clicking on the red words.

Also, in the spirit of friendship, my Love is in the Air Valentine unit will be on sale for $5 tonight only until midnight. It's usually $8 and you get a ton of math and language arts centers and activities!

Happy Monday! My kiddos were soooo good today...I hope it keeps up the rest of the week. We started new math centers today to kick off our Valentine's fun. Sorry about the funny color on some of the pictures. I think my camera is about to bite the dust :(.

You can get Deeanna's 3D shape game here {it's free!!}. Be sure to follow her new TPT store!
You can get my Love is in the Air packet with all of these centers here.
