I love all the learning activities that you do with your class. So fun and creative! Makes me wish I taught Kdg again. I miss it so much! I now work with Kdg Title I kiddos. I am wondering about the Tyner model you posted about earlier, and a colleague is curious about it, too. Do you include handwriting with the letter recognition? I am amazed at the writing from your pictures. We have kiddos who can't write their name and can only count to 2. How do your strugglers do with the activities that you do in class? Are they picking up quickly? Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas!
ReplyDeleteHi Lee Ann,
DeleteThank you so much for the sweet comments! We do include handwriting with the letter recognition. We rainbow trace each letter then in small group, practice letter formation. I have about 6 kiddos who struggle with skills and they usually do pretty well with our activities, with a little help from me and their from their peers. They are picking up on skills, but I wouldn't say quickly. For those 6, instead of going on to a new small group skill, we will repeat the 26 alphabet lessons and hopefully they'll pick it up! Feel free to email me if you have more questions. :)
