Apples and Pen Pals {Plus a giveaway}

I am so excited about this new unit I uploaded to TpT tonight! Johnny Appleseed's birthday might be my favorite holiday of the year! I love it so much, in fact, that I have a week of clothing that has some type of apple on it....crazy, I know!! I'm actually pretty sad I won't get to wear it this year thanks the gi-normous baby belly I'm sporting! You can get the unit by clicking on the picture below. It includes a ton of math and language arts centers, writing prompts, graphic organizers, and more. I also included all of the common core standards for you :).

I'll send the pack to one lucky commenter tomorrow afternoon. Just leave me a comment telling me you follow my blog and what your favorite "non-major" holiday is :)

 In other news, my super sweet bloggy friend Kelley is organizing a HUGE pen pal project and I am soooo excited about having a pen pal for my class this year! Click on the picture below to sign up on her blog and to get the details.

She even has an awesome pen pal pack on TpT that you can get here to help you out if you don't know where to get started.

Sorry for a promotion post tonight...I promise to be back this weekend with some updated classroom pics. Granny is coming back tomorrow to help me with some things and hopefully, we'll get a lot accomplished. Then it's off to the beach for one last weekend of fun {and eating at the Scallop Festival} before the reality of the alarm clock sets in!

  12. I follow your blog! My favorite "non-holiday" is Pajama Day at our school. One day, usually right before Christmas break, we all wear our pajamas to school and have some sort of school wide story time with a snack or hot cocoa or something. It's so fun to see all the kids in their different pajamas--and the teachers, too!

  15. Your apple unit looks wonderful! My favorite "non-holiday" is the first day of fall. I love teaching about the seasons, apples, pumpkins, scarecrows; anything fall-ish. Unfortunately, in my part of Texas, we really don't have a fall. But I still love it! Thanks for the chance to win!

  22. I follow your blog. My fave non-major holiday is Break The Rules day that my school has every June. One of the rules the kids can pay to break is extra recess and I always buy it for the ones who don't so that I can get a 30 minute recess!

  23. Hi Vickie,
    I'm a follower! My favorite non holiday is Flag Day. My school recently restarted an old tradition where we have a Flag day parade, inviting members of the military as honorees. It is such a sweet thing to see all the children wearing patriotic clothing and waving mini flags! :)
