a Rafflecopter giveaway

I went to school today to work a little and my sweet granny came to help me paint all of my shelves...this is what it looked like when we left:

Can you say disaster area?? The bad thing is, teachers come back to school in 3 weeks!!! I am freaking out and can't do much because I'm still not sure if I'm going to be in this room or if I will be moving to a new room. I am just a *little* overwhelmed. I'm going to do as much as I can in the way of organizing and hope that I find out soon where I will be. The good part is I have a super awesome family that as my granny told me today, "Can come whenever we need to to help you move." Love them!

How much more summer do you have?

  1. Oh, Vickie. It breaks my heart to hear that you're overwhelmed (with good reason for sure) while being pregnant. It sounds like you're dong the right thing in organizing and painting things that you will take with you. It's hard when you don't know what to expect but need get stuff done now. Definitely use your family's help and take care of yourself.

    1. You are so sweet Erica!! I just really wish I knew where I was going to be because I hate waiting until we go back and spending every night until 8 or 9 at the school! Luckily, I have lots of help! It doesn't help that we're also trying to buy a house in the middle of everything...I don't really time things well :)

  2. My sister is a kgarten teacher. shes on her feet all day too and babysitting 23 children isnt easy also. When they are in Kindergarten, they not only have to be taught discpline but basic learning skills too, toughest job in school.

  4. I have a little less than 3 weeks

    Ugh where did summer go?
My room was also a mini dump fill when I walked in but it will get better! For the first 4 days it looked like I was making no progress but it is slowly, very slowly coming together

  5. Hey!
I am totally painting my shelves too! Since you did it first, which paint did you use and how many coats did it take.
I am not looking forward to that chore, but I am excited with how it should look after!
Yours look fabulous! I heart your granny!!!

    1. We had the best paint! I'm actually super spoiled and my granny went to Lowe's to buy it and asked the guy the best kind so we would only have to do one coat. It was Olympia with primer already in it, so we actually only had to do 1 coat (plus a few touch ups). I am soooo glad I did it...the shelves were orange, yellow, and that brown pre-fab and the paint covered it all!

  7. I was reading your blog and thinking back to when I had my daughter - I thought I was going to be able to start school in the fall, but my Jessie decided to come earlier. :) I just wanted to tell you that I sent my kids a picture of my baby and I, along with a letter, once or twice a week on the computer (I was teaching 2nd at the time) and that helped them get to know me. They sometimes wrote to me too. I put all my letters and and any of theirs into a little book. My baby is turning 6 in August and we love to read it together! :) It's a little overwhelming at first to combine both of your loves, but it gets easier with time. Good luck!!

  8. Wow Vickie, you're really doing a lot! It's so beautiful that your granny is willing to help you with your classroom. My 21-year-old daughter also helps me, and I am so grateful because, being blind, I really need help with the bulletin boards. I hope you find out soon which room you'll be in. I had the same dilemma last year, and it was very stressful!

I have a lot of freebies on my blog that might be helpful to you. I've also put up some free products for the beginning of kindergarten on Teacher's Notebook:
