Slipping Away...

Where in the world has summer gone? Can you believe it's the end of JULY already?? Somebody please explain to me how the past 2 months have passed by at warp speed!!
Ok, I may be being a little dramatic, but it does seem like every year the summer passes by faster than the previous one. Maybe it's because I've been busy playing with this little cherub (and I apologize for those of you who follow me on Instagram for bombarding you with pictures of her daily!!)
She's just a little obsessed with this version of Brown Bear where you slide a tab to see the next animal!
All of sudden this week I started to get in panic mode about the upcoming school year...how am I going to balance the beginning of school with a little one when in previous years I stayed until 9:00 at night? What am I going to do about this new reading series we're supposed to teach "with fidelity" when I'm used to creating my own lessons? Then, to add to my panic, I was told last week I'm moving rooms. Now, for all of the portable's issues, I actually liked my little paneled portable {mainly because it's the only room with a Promethean Board and one of the only rooms that allows teacher control of the temp}. However, I am moving into a huge room with 3 huge closets, so I am super excited and nervous all at the same time! My sweet granny {who gets roped into everything} came to help me start moving stuff yesterday:

Can you spot my little helper?
In the midst of the craziness, I have been able to get a little work done. I finally finished my shape pack and am super excited about it. Click the pictures below to check it out on TpT. It's on sale until midnight tomorrow for $5!

I also updated a few things in my beginning of the year center pack. If you already bought it, be sure to download your new pack! You can check it out by clicking the picture below.
I would love to give away one of each of these packs to 2 lucky readers! Leave me a comment below telling me how you're spending these last days of summer and I'll pick a winner some time tomorrow. :)

  5. I have just under a month left before going back. Last night was the first "nightmare" night, so it must be getting close. I am still recovering from eye surgery earlier this summer, so I will spend time checking facebook and reading blogs, printing stuff out, and finally begin laminating:-)

  7. Hi Vickie,

Presently, my family and I are enjoying the last week of a two-week vacation in California and we are having a "blast".

When I return home, first on my BS2 agenda is to visit my classroom to begin preparation.

  44. My summer has been crazy! My oldest got married in June to a beautiful young lady and we are so excited to have her join out family. Did I mention the wedding was out of state so had extra travel duties in all that. When they returned from their honeymoon my son had his first teaching job interview - and HE GOT IT! He will be teaching Middle School Spanish - soooo I have been searching for ideas for him. He starts school in 2 weeks - BUT they have to move so they/we have been busy packing and searching for an affordable apartment. I went on a week long trip with our church youth group for a conference in St Louis - it was fantastic! Doctor appts, spending time with my other two children - and this week, headed to my room to arrange furniture and sort through stuff! Next week is vacation, being cut short to go to KY to help my oldest move and set up his classroom. Can't wait but boy is it crazy! Has anyone noticed the BACK TO SCHOOL supplies are out! WOW! Neat stuff.

Your baby is precious and how exciting to get a bigger room - but be careful - that means you will fill it up with more stuff :-) Enjoy! Thanks for the blog!

  45. Hi! I was looking at your post of you classroom from last year and I loved the seat sacks. I have been wanting to get them for my room but I don't want to spend all that money! I know your grandmother made them. DO you know what material she used and how much of it? I need enough for 18 chairs. Any info you have would be great. I bought the Let's go to school pack and it's great!

We are teaching the new reading series "with fidelity" too and we're not sure how to follow the plan either. I'd like to hear more how you do it....I love your shape pack! Thanks, Amy powellbabe@hotmail.com

What was I thinking?? lol Teachers go back Aug. 2 so I am going to try to stay away from the school as much as possible and enjoy the rest of my summer.
